Medium: Etching on Hand laid paper.

Sheet size: 46.1 x 35.3 cm (18.15 x 13.9 inch). Image size: 40 x 30 cm. (15.75 x 11.81 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. The print is in very good condition, with minimal signs of wear. There is a faint vertical fold in the center and slight yellowing along the edges. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published by Joseph Wagner, based on a painting by Francesco Zuccarelli IN 1750-1803.

Biography engraver: Giovanni Volpato (1735-1803) was an Italian engraver, known for his refined etchings. He worked in Venice and later moved to Rome, where he became famous for his engravings after classical and contemporary paintings. He collaborated with prominent artists and publishers, including Joseph Wagner.

Biography artist: Francesco Zuccarelli (1702-1788) was an Italian painter, primarily known for his idyllic pastoral landscapes. He worked extensively in Italy and England, influencing the development of English landscape painting.
