BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This attractive printdrawing was published by Ploos van Amstel. Cornelis Ploos van Amstel, (1726-1798) was art collector, painter, graphic artist, engraver, copper engraver, printmaker, visual artist. He is best known for his collection of drawings and for his editions of prints. He was a timber merchant and broker in ships and ship shares.

Biography engraver: Cornelis Brouwer (c.1733-1803).
Biography artist: Simon van der Does (1653-after 1717) was a Dutch Golden Age landscape painter, draughtsman and printmaker from The Hague.
