Description
A set of two small etchings signed “AL 1855,” depicting rural and everyday scenes. Both etchings feature figures in conversation and activity, highlighting tranquil pastoral life with simple, narrative compositions.
– First etching: A rural family walking along a path with trees and a distant windmill in the background.
– Second etching: A group of figures gathered near a waterfront with a cottage and a sailing ship in the distance.
Made by an anonymous engraver after monogram AL.
Medium: Etching on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 9 x 7 cm (3.54 x 2.76 inch). Image size: 7 x 5 cm. (2.76 x 1.97 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
