Description
Plate : ‘Les Traveaux Champetres’. (Rural occupancies.) Landscape with figures bathing in a pond at left and man watering his horse at right, at centre a horseman accompanied by two dogs, beyond, a man walking past two figures sitting by the roadside, and thatched cottages, a harvest scene in the distance at left.

Medium: engraving / etching with hand colouring on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 40.5 x 34.5 cm (15.94 x 13.58 inch). Image size: 39 x 32.5 cm. (15.35 x 12.8 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Paper loss top left and right, backed. Light foxing and staining. Two small tears top edge, not affecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Louis Simon Lempereur (1728-1807), was an engraver/illustrator. He was a student of Pierre Aveline.
Biography artist: Philips Wouwerman (also Wouwermans) (1619 – 1668) was a Dutch painter of hunting, landscape and battle scenes.
