Description
This plate shows a lady and her servant visiting an astrologer’s office. He, looking toward Heaven, is deducing her future. On his table are a globe, a pile of books and a quill in inkstand. The lady is sumptuously dressed, and nervously fidgeting with a handkerchief. Rare.

Medium: original handcoloured stipple engraving on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 35.5 x 43 cm (13.98 x 16.93 inch). Image size: 30 x 35 cm. (11.81 x 13.78 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Some repairs to the rear of the plate, dampstain to the lower margin (partly affecting image). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
