Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing, and soiling. Ataached to a carrier at top. Large tear a middle, backed. Small tear, backed, and some thin paper spots. Bottom right corner with slight paper loss. Trimmed to the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Nicolas Beatrizet (c. 1515-1565) was a French engraver active in Rome during the mid-16th century. Strongly influenced by Marcantonio Raimondi and the Roman School, he reproduced works after Raphael and other High Renaissance masters. Beatrizet became known for his refined burin technique and played a key role in disseminating Raphael’s compositions through prints across Europe.
Biography artist: Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (1483-1520), known as Raphael, was one of the leading figures of the Italian High Renaissance. Active in Florence and Rome, he is celebrated for his harmonious compositions and clarity of form. His frescoes in the Vatican, including the Loggia decorations, profoundly influenced generations of artists and printmakers.
