Biography engraver: Willem Jacobsz. Delff (1580-1638) was a Dutch engraver from Delft, renowned for his refined portrait engravings after leading painters of the Dutch Golden Age. He frequently collaborated with Michiel van Mierevelt and became one of the foremost reproductive engravers of official and aristocratic portraits in the early 17th century.
Biography artist: Michiel Jansz. van Mierevelt (1566-1641) was a prominent Dutch portrait painter of the Golden Age, based in Delft. He portrayed members of the House of Orange, statesmen, and scholars. His workshop produced numerous official likenesses that were widely disseminated through engravings.
