Medium: Etching / stipple engraving with hand colouring. on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 37 x 48 cm (14.57 x 18.9 inch). Image size: 35.5 x 47 cm. (13.98 x 18.5 inch).

Condition: fair, given age. Plate cropped en cut into plate mark at the bottom. Edges with some tiny tears. Foxing spots. Sharp horizontal crease left to right. Remargined at a few places. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography artist: Richard Westall (1765 ? 1836) was an English painter and illustrator of portraits, historical and literary events, best known for his portraits of Byron. He was also Queen Victoria’s drawing master.
