Biography engraver: Laurent Cars (1699-1771), a prominent French engraver known for his works after Le Brun and other notable French painters.
Biography artist: Charles Le Brun (1619-1690) was one of the most influential painters of the French Baroque and chief decorator of Versailles. Jean Baptiste Masse (1687-1767) was a French painter and engraver who specialized in the reproduction of works by Le Brun and others.
