Biography engraver: Charles-François Levachez was a French engraver and print publisher active in Paris during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. He is known for finely executed aquatints after contemporary French artists, especially lively genre and caricatural scenes.

Biography artist: Antoine Charles Horace Vernet, known as Carle Vernet (1758-1836), was a celebrated French painter, draughtsman, and lithographer. The son of Joseph Vernet, he became renowned for his depictions of horses, military subjects, hunting scenes, and animated genre scenes of Parisian life during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic periods.
