Biography engraver: Noach van der Meer II (1741-1822) was a Dutch engraver, etcher and publisher active in Amsterdam. He produced book illustrations, portraits and political prints in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and frequently collaborated with contemporary draughtsmen.
Biography artist: Johannes Cornelis Mertens (1757-1821) was a Dutch draughtsman and decorative painter active in Amsterdam. He designed portraits, allegorical and decorative compositions, many of which were translated into prints by engravers such as Noach van der Meer II.
