Medium: Etching and aquatint etching with hand colouring. on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 53 x 42 cm (20.87 x 16.54 inch). Image size: 39 x 29 cm. (15.35 x 11.42 inch).

Condition: very good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. Small paper loss at bottom right, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published by Basset in Paris, c.1820.

Biography engraver: Jean-Pierre-Marie Jazet (1788-1871) was a French engraver known for aquatint and mezzotint techniques. A pupil of L.F. Debucourt, Jazet focused on genre scenes and reproductions after French masters. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1817.
