BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Published in Paris by Martinet, 1773.

Biography engraver: Charles Emanuel Patas (1744-1802) was a Frenchn engraver from Paris, a student of Baquoy, active at the 1791 Salon.

Biography artist: Philips Wouwerman (1619-1668) was a Dutch Golden Age painter best known for his equestrian scenes and lively landscapes featuring travelers, hunters, and markets.
