Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. Original vertical folds as issued. Ghosting from previous framing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

After a drawing by Reinier Vinkeles, part of the collection of Cornelis Ploos van Amstel. Published in the Atlas Dreesmann collection.

Reference: Amsterdam Archives, Inventaris 10094.

Biography engraver: Frans de Bakker (c. 1720-1767) was a Dutch printmaker, illustrator, and draftsman active in Amsterdam. His work focused on portraits and historical prints. He was active in the mid-18th century.

Biography artist: Reinier Vinkeles (1741-1816) was a Dutch painter and engraver from Amsterdam. He studied under Jan Punt and later worked in Paris with Jacques-Philippe Le Bas. He specialized in book illustrations, topographical prints, and portraits.
