Description
Original antique print, titled: ‘Agar Presentee a Abraham par Sara’. It shows: the Biblical scene in which Sarah presents her handmaiden Hagar to Abraham, intending Abraham to make Hagar his second wife. Sarah could not bear children, but wanted to fulfill God’s promise.

Medium: engraving / etching on hand laid (verge) paper.
Sheet size: 49 x 36 cm (19.29 x 14.17 inch). Image size: 48 x 35 cm. (18.9 x 13.78 inch).
Condition: very good, given age. Margins cropped close to the platemark. Middle fold, as issued. Three creases in the image (mostly flattened out). A small spot of paper erosion in the image, resulting in loss of a small part. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
