Jan (or Johannes) Fyt (or Fijt) (Antwerp 1611-1661) was a Flemish Baroque animal painter and etcher. Fyt was a student of Frans Snyders. His style shows Rembrandt-like effects. Fyt excelled in the rendering of animal life in its most varied forms.
Condition: Very good, given age. Attached to carrier, a small rust stain in right upper corner margin, faint staining in top margin, collector’s stamp on the rear.
