Medium: Engraving on Handlaid (verge) paper. Watermark: Yes.

Sheet size: 25 x 17.5 cm (9.84 x 6.89 inch). Image size: 20 x 15.2 cm. (7.87 x 5.98 inch).

Condition: fair, given age. Overall soiling and some staining.. Creases in upper right and lower left and right corner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Biography engraver: Frederik Bloemaert (Utrecht ca. 1614-1690) was a Dutch printmaker and draftsman. His father Abraham Bloemaert (1566-1651) was a Dutch painter and printmaker in etching and engraving. He was one of the ‘Haarlem Mannerists’ from about 1585, but in the new century altered his style to fit new Baroque trends. He mostly painted history subjects and some landscapes.
