Biography engraver: Pieter van Looij (1823-1885) was a Dutch draughtsman and lithographer active mainly in Haarlem and later Amsterdam. His works reflect a high level of skill in ornamental and topographical illustration, and he was closely associated with national and regional exhibitions in the Netherlands during the mid-19th century.
