BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Probably made by a German artist.

Biography artist: Alexandre-Gabriel Decamps (1803-1860), French painter and lithographer, known for satirical works and orientalist scenes. His Chemin de Toulon caricatures justice and punishment in France. This sheet is a later drawn copy, signed H. v. Weiehs fecit.
