Description

Aquarel, sepia on wove paper.

Signed W.J. Walter and dated 1856.

Made by ‘Wilhelmus Joannes Walter’ after own design. Wilhelmus Joannes Walter (1818 – 1894) was a Dutch artist who worked in Amsterdam until 1880 and then moved to Ginneken. He painted mainly landscapes and also was a lithographer and draugtsman.

Condition: Good, given age. Some brown spots above. On reverse remains of glue in corners and thin tape in upper margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
