Illuminated manuscript leaf from an unidentified probably 15th.c. Book of Hours. Bright border on three sides featuring large bright red, blue, green, and pink acanthus leaves, thistles, flowers and illuminated gold leaves. Large initial in burnished gold, red and blue, and white accents. The latin text is written in a gothic script in black ink and red. Small initials in gold and blue on frnt and rear.

Ink and gouache drawing with gold illumination on vellum paper.
Sheet size: 13,5 x 19,5 cm. (5,3 x 7,7 inch). Image size: 9,5 x 15 cm. (3,7 x 5,9 inch).

Probably from a 15th.c. French Book of Hours. To be further researched.

Condition: Very good, given age. Some remains of paper from attachment on rear, which can be removed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
