Illuminated manuscript leaf from an unidentified probably 15th.c. Book of Hours. Large initials in burnished gold, red and blue, and white accents, front and rear. The latin text is written in a gothic script in black ink.

Description

Ink and gouache drawing with gold illumination on vellum paper.
Sheet size: 13,3 x 19,5 cm. (5,2 x 7,7 inch). Image size: 7 x 9,5 cm. (2,8 x 3,7 inch).

Probably from a 15th.c. French Book of Hours. To be further researched.

Condition: Very good, given age. Some remains of paper tape from previous atachment, which can be removed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
