Biography artist: Michiel Versteeg (1756-1843) was a Dutch painter and draughtsman active in Dordrecht. He worked during the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries and produced portraits, genre scenes and drawings. Versteeg belongs to the group of Dordrecht artists active in the period between roughly 1780 and 1840, whose work continued the Dutch tradition of detailed figure and genre drawings.
