Handcoloured lithographed anatomical plate showing “de vereeniging van het hoofd met de ruggegraat, van achteren, van ter zijde en van binnen gezien. alsmeede van de vereeniging der halswervelen onder elkander” (the union of the skull and the spine (seen from the front, side and inside), and the interlocking of the cervical vertebra). Plate XXIII, vol. 1, from: “Magazijn van ontleedkunde, of volledige verzameling van ontleedkundige afbeeldingen van het menschelijk ligchaam” (Amsterdam, C.G. Sulpke, [1839]). These plates are lithographed after drawings by the foremost physicians of the time, such as Rosenmuller, Loder, Karel Bell, Gordon & Bock.
