Handcoloured lithographed anatomical plate showing “de werktuigen die tot de ademhaling en den bloedsomloop dienen” (the parts of the body pertaining to breathing and blood circulation, seen from the front). Plate LXVI, vol. 1, from: “Magazijn van ontleedkunde, of volledige verzameling van ontleedkundige afbeeldingen van het menschelijk ligchaam” (Amsterdam, C.G. Sulpke, [1839]). These plates are lithographed after drawings by the foremost physicians of the time, such as Rosenmuller, Loder, Karel Bell, Gordon & Bock.
