Description
This print showcases scenes of leisure, human interaction with nature, or the whimsical interplay between animals and humans. The use of red chalk or “sanguine” for sketches is also a common technique during this era, which gives the images a warm, soft appearance. Huet’s works would also be well-composed with a clear sense of depth and often framed by decorative elements, alluding to their intended setting in sophisticated domestic interiors.
