– Bust portrait of the celebrated Amsterdam silversmith Johannes Lutma the Elder (1584-1669), shown at the age of eighty-five. The sitter is depicted as a sculptural bust placed on a pedestal inscribed with his name, emphasizing his reputation as a master craftsman and sculptor in precious metals. The refined stipple technique gives the portrait a soft, almost sculptural modeling of the face and beard. The print was executed by his son, Johannes Lutma II, who was himself a sculptor and engraver.
