Attributed to Joachim Martin Falbe (Bassenge Auctions) or Daniel Niklaus Chodowiecki (Laurentius), after Rembrandt’s etching ‘The Flute Player (Eulenspiegel)’, 1642. .

Biography engraver: Joachim Martin Falbe (1709-1782) was a German painter and draughtsman active in the 18th century who worked in Copenhagen and Rome and was associated with artists of the Danish Academy. Daniel Niklaus Chodowiecki (1726-1801) was one of the most important German graphic artists of the late 18th century, famous for his numerous etchings illustrating bourgeois life and literary works.
