Medium: Aquatint etching with hand colouring on wove (vellin) paper.

Sheet size: 55.8 x 41.5 cm (21.97 x 16.34 inch).

Condition: fair, given age. Noticeable hole in image area, additional tears, backed, minor foxing and staining, margins somewhat worn. Still strong colour. Sold waf. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Biography engraver: Richard Gilson Reeve (1803-1889) was a British engraver and aquatint specialist best known for sporting and animal subjects. His finely colored prints captured the rural life and equestrian pursuits of 19th-century England.

Biography artist: Dean Wolstenholme Sr. (1757-1837) was an English painter and printmaker specializing in hunting, shooting, and sporting scenes. His detailed works helped define the visual vocabulary of Georgian country pursuits.
