BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Probably from a German calendar or historical almanac, late 17th century.
Biography engraver: Thomas Hirschmann (active ca. 1670-1691), German engraver, active in Augsburg and other centers. Produced numerous frontispieces and allegorical engravings for books, calendars, and religious works.
