Allegorical depiction of the recovery of the Amsterdam Stock Exchange after the major bankruptcies caused by the speculative wind trade of 1763. The Beurs (stock exchange) is being swept clean with a broom, while above, four merchants fall from the sky out of Phaethon’s chariot. On the left, Justice, Mercury, and Hercules are depicted. A verse in two columns appears beneath the image.
