The scene depicts the Siege of Schenk Fortress near Cleves, led by Louis XIV’s troops under Vicomte Turenne. In the foreground, Turenne and his officers are shown directing the movement of troops across the river Rhine. The print is surrounded by a decorative architectural frame, with a detailed map in a cartouche at the top and the title inscribed at the bottom.
