BACKGROUND INFORMATION
This print is part of a series depicting Dutch village landscapes. The featured village in this print is Tienhoven, with a view of a couple walking with a child towards the church on the left, with trees lining the right side of the street. This work is one of eight plates from the series “Eight landscapes with views of villages in various provinces,” engraved by Roelant Roghman. Published by Clement de Jonghe.

Biography engraver: Roelant Roghman (1627-1692) was a Dutch artist and engraver known for his landscape etchings. His works were published by the well-known Dutch publisher Clement de Jonghe. Roghman is particularly noted for his series of village and castle landscapes in the Netherlands.
