Made by ‘Giorgio Ghisi’ after ‘Marcello Venusti’. Giorgio Ghisi Montuano (1520-1582) was an Italian engraver from Mantua who also worked in Antwerp and in France. He made both prints and damascened metalwork. See his monogram on the print GMF.
Condition: Good, given age. Trimmed to image. Several thin worm holes, not very noticable, partly backed with paper tape. Overall light staining. Creases in left and right margin and left upper corner. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
