From: ?Theatrum Pictorium?, or Theatre of Painting. This famous book by David Teniers the Younger was published c. 1660. It was a catalog of 243 Italian paintings in the Archduke?s collection of over 1300 paintings, with engravings of the paintings taken from small models that Teniers had personally prepared. A second edition with page numbers was published in 1673.
Made by ‘Peter van Liesebetten’ after ‘David Teniers after Paolo Veronese ‘. Peter van Liesebetten (1630-1678) was a flemish draughtsman and engraver. David Teniers the younger (1610-1690) was a flemish painter, draftsman, printmaker, miniature painter and copyist. After Paolo Veronese (1528?1588) who was an Italian painter, draughtsman and architect.
Condition: Good, given age. Brownish. Remains of paper on rear from previous attachment. Some light paper spots / lines. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
