Antique print, titled: ‘Battle of Leipsic, October 19, 1813.’ – The Battle of Leipzig, also the Battle of the Nations, in which the coalition armies of Russia, Prussia, Austria, Britain and Sweden, led by Tsar Alexander I decisively defeated the French army of Napoleon. James Jenkins ‘The Martial Achievements of Great Britain’, published in London, 1822. The most famous English colour plate book recording the military endeavours of the Napoleonic wars, considered by Hardie to be a brilliant and worthy record of a brilliant period in our country’s history. Artists and Engravers: Made by ‘Thomas Sutherland’ after ‘William Heath’. Thomas Sutherland (ca. 1785- ca. 1820) was an English aquatint etcher. William Heath?(1794-1840) was a?British?artist. He was best known for his published engravings which included?caricatures, political cartoons, and commentary on contemporary life.

Condition: Excellent, given age. Stamp on reverse. Some faint soiling in the margin. A few tiny stains. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
