Félix Courché, born April 20, 1863 in Paris and died of illness in Rueil-Malmaison in 1944, is a French painter of the Symbolist movement. He studied under Luigi Loir and Léon Bonnat at the National School of Fine Arts. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1885 to 1900 and at the Salon des Indépendants from 1902. In 1906, he won a bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition in Milan and, in 1925, an honorary diploma at the ‘Exhibition of decorative arts. In 1926, he also took part in the Independents’ Retrospective and the following year presented the paintings Soir de fête and Enchantement, then, in 1929, Doux repos. He is known for having decorated many mansions with monumental frescoes.
