Title page to the described work (Atlas part). Rare. This scarse map originates from: ‘Nederlandsche bezittingen in Azia, Amerika en Afrika, in derzelver toestand en aangelegenheid voor dit Rijk, wijsgeerig, staatshuishoudkundig en geographisch beschouwd, met bijvoeging der noodige tabellen, en eenen atlas nieuwe kaarten / door J. van den Bosch.’ published by Gebroeders Van Cleef, Amsterdam and The Hague, 1818. (translation: Dutch posessions in Asia, America and Afrika, it’s situation, on behalf of the State, described from a scientific, political/economic and geographic perspective, with added tabels and an Atlas with new maps …) The Atlas is titled: ‘Atlas der overzeesche bezittingen …’ (transl.: Atlas of colonial posessions.)Artists and Engravers: Author: Johannes, Count van den Bosch (1780-1844) was a Dutch General and Governor-General of the Dutch East Indies, commander of the Dutch-Indian army, Minister of Colonies and Minister of State and Officer in the Military Willems-Order. The title-page to the Atlas was engraved by Landegent and Visser and the maps engraved by C. van Baarsel en Zoon (map part) and A.L. Zeelander (views part).

Condition: Very good. General age related toning. Ghosting as a result of storage and varying exposure to light. Paper edges ocassionally a bit chipped or irregular. Please study scan carefully.
