Original antique print showing a portrait of the Roman philopsopher Seneca. Lucius Annaeus Seneca the Younger (c. 4 BC ? 65 AD), usually known mononymously as Seneca, was a Stoic philosopher of Ancient Rome, a statesman, dramatist, and, in one work, satirist, from the post-Augustan age of Latin literature (source wikipedia).

Biography engraver: Theodoor Galle (1571-1633) was a Flemish engraver from Antwerp, son of Philips Galle and brother of Cornelis I. He took over the workshop of his father in 1612. He married the daughter of the publisher Jan Moretus.
