From an unidentified Atlas by Louis Brion de la Tour, published by Louis Charles Desnos in 1765, possibly a rare custom-ordered atlas. These maps lack the seperately printed border surrounding these maps typically. Most all ed. of these maps have a decorative border surrounding the maps. We have found this ed. to be scarse.
Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Louis Brion de la Tour’. Publisher: Louis Charles Desnos (1725-1805), who was an important intrument & globe maker, cartographer and publisher in Paris. He worked with Zannoni and Louis Brion de la Tour (c.1743-1803), a French grographer and demographer.
Condition: Good, given age. Original middle fold as issued. Light soiling and staining. Slight paper separation at fold ends, backed. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
