Description
A satirical etching depicting humorous scenes involving figures labeled with different European nationalities, featuring exaggerated actions and objects associated with the stereotypes of each culture. Figures are numbered, referencing the description below. Nationalities described translate as follows: 1 Dutch 2 Spanish 3 German 4 Savoyard 5 English 6 French 7 Prince of Orange. Probably related to 80 year Spanish-Dutch war.

Medium: Etching on hand-laid (verge) paper. Watermark: Double circle with lettering with initial countermark on paper with narrow chainlines.
Sheet size: 29.4 x 25 cm (11.57 x 9.84 inch). Image size: 29 x 22.5 cm. (11.42 x 8.86 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Light foxing, creasing and soiling. Vertical fold and some stining. Remains of tape in corners. The Spanish figure has been needle-pinned for tracing. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
