Antique print, titled: ‘Jacobus Callot in Coll.ne Com.is Max.ni Gini Bononie Asserv.um.’ – This print shows a portrait of Jacob Callot. Jacques Callot (Nancy 1592-1635) was a famous baroque printmaker and draftsman from Lorraine / present day France. He was active in Italy employed by Cosimo II de Medici until 1621. He is an important figure in the development of the old master print and highly popular. Ex. Coll. Graf F.J. von Enzenberg (Lugt 845). Ref: Lieure del.1 p.36 Iconography. Condition: Good, given age. Some small stains in margin. Paper damage on the rear, not visible on the front. Collection mark on the rear. Pencil annotations on front and rear. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
