This plate originates from: ‘Florilegium Amplissimum et Selectissimum.’ by Emanuel Sweerts, published by Anthonius Kempner, Frankfurt, 1612. Later editions exist. This specific edition unknown, but 17th c. Valuable, very rare.
Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Emanuel Sweerts’. Emanuel Sweert (1552?1612) was a Dutch painter and nurseryman noted for his publication in 1612 at Frankfurt-am-Main of Florilegium Amplissimum et Selectissimum.
Condition: Good, given age. Small tear in left paper edge, backed, not effecting image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
