Medium: Aquatint etching with original hand colouring. on wove (vellin) paper.
Sheet size: 21.4 x 29 cm (8.43 x 11.42 inch). Image size: 14 x 20.8 cm. (5.51 x 8.19 inch).
Condition: good, given age. Some ghosting from previous framing. 2 light stains in top corners, not effecting the image. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
From: ‘Vues choisies d’Amsterdam et ses environs (…), published in Amsterdam by Frans Buffa & fils in 1825. A very rare series of splendid aquatint views, mainly of Amsterdam. The series of 45 plates, one of the finest print series on Amsterdam, was originally published in nine instalments of 5 plates.
Biography engraver: J.A. Lutz / Loutz / Luts was an aquatint etcher active in Amsterdam from c. 1808-22.
Biography artist: Johannes Jelgerhuis (1770-1836), was a painter and actor from Leeuwarden in the Northern Netherlands, known for his interior and architectural studies.
