Plate : ‘Cleef’. (Kleve.) This rare plate shows a view of the city of Kleve, Germany. Very rare! This original antique print originates from: Nieuwe historische-geographische beschryving van den geheelen aardkloot (…).’, by J.H. Knoop, published in Leeuwarden (1765?) and Amsterdam 1785 by J.B. Elwe.Artists and Engravers: Johann Hermann Knoop (c.1700-c.1768) is best known for his botanical work on fruit and horticulture: ‘Pomologia.’ Plates R. et J. Ottens exc. Reiner Ottens and his brother Joshua have been active in map printing and selling during the first half of 18th Century. The family business was founded by their father Joachim, but most productive during the time of Reiner and Joshua.

Condition: Excellent. General age related toning. Rear blank. Original fold lines as issued. Please study scans carefully.
