Made by ‘Alfred Boilot’ after ‘Ernest Meissonier (?)’. Alfred Boilot (active 1886-95) a French etcher and engraver. Alfred Boilot studied under Butin and Damman, in Paris. He participated in many expositions including the Paris Blanc et Noir Exhibition of 1886. Alfred Boilot gained recognition for his fine and detailed style and was frequently commissioned by French, English and American publishers of prints. Ernest Meisonnier (1815-1891) was active as a painter. His historic scenery was very popular.
Condition: Good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
