Biography engraver: Jan Johannes Theodorus Schonk (1889-1976) was a Dutch artist and designer. His was trained at the Rotterdam academy. His subjects were mainly landscapes, animals. He was intial active with ceramics. From 1931 on he went on to mostly graphic work and became one of the most important Dutch artists of the 20th.c.
