This drawing is the original design drawing resulting in a lithographic print published in ‘Symbolae Physicae seu Icones et desciprtiones piscium […]’, by F.G. Hemprich and C.G. Ehrenberg, published 1828-29.

Made by an anonymous engraver after ‘Muller for Wilhelm Friedrich Hemprich and Christian Godfried Ehrenberg’. Wilhelm Friedrich Hemprich (1796-1825) was a German naturalist and explorer. Christian Gottfried Ehrenberg (1795-1876), German naturalist, zoologist, comparative anatomist, geologist, and microscopist, was one of the most famous and productive scientists of his time.

Condition: Good, given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
