‘Rector & Senatus Academiae Lugduno-Batavae Lectoribus Salutem. […]’

Original Promotion Diploma from the University of Leiden Medical Faculty awarded to Michaël Gregorius Stevens in 1760.

The diploma contains several original signatures including those of of the reknown anatomist Bernhard Siegfried Albinus (1697-1770). Further names include: Joannes Jacobus Schultens (rector), A. van Roijens, J.D. Gaubius, Fr. Winter (Promotor) and others.

The Promovendus Michaël Gregorius Stevens aparently originated from Tongeren, Belgium. He attended Medical school in Liege and we found reference that he also graduated from Leuven University in 1755.

This diploma is partly handwritten on vellum / parchment, with original ribbon. Size (incl folded over parts): c. 52.5 x 37cm.
