Original Gouache Painting-LAUGHING AT A SNOW RABBIT-Gottfried Wiegand-1978

Gottfried Wiegand (1926-2005) was a German artist from Leipzig. He studied at the ‘Kunstakademie Hochschule der Bildenden Künste München’. In 1951 he moved to Düsseldorf where he married the artist Martel Wiegand. From 1954 – 1986 he was an art Professor there and later in in Karlsruhe and Cologne In 1977 he won the Villa Romana Price in Florence and in 1987 the ‘Karl Ernst Osthaus Preis der Stadt Hagen’. He had numerous exhibititions in Germany and abroad. He was honoured in 2001 for the ‘Preis der Grossen Kunstausstellung NRW im Kunstmuseum Düsseldorf.’
